Advantages of sodium-ion batteries:
1. Low cost.
Because the crustal reserves of sodium are very abundant, three orders of magnitude higher than those of lithium, the price is also very different.
2. Good conductivity, fast charging and discharging, and can use low concentration electrolyte.
3. Good safety. Sodium is more stable and safer than lithium.
4. Loose working temperature zone: 90% discharge can be guaranteed in an environment of -28 degrees Celsius, which is something that lithium batteries cannot do.
Disadvantages of sodium-ion batteries:
1. Battery life difference:
Because the mass energy density is low, it cannot last for a long time.
This is also a fatal weakness of sodium-ion batteries compared to lithium batteries.
2. Large size:
The volume of sodium-ion batteries with the same GWH is two or three times that of lithium batteries.
3. Low number of cycles:
This is doomed to the fact that the life of sodium-ion batteries is much shorter than that of lithium batteries.
The advantages of lithium batteries are precisely the disadvantages of sodium-ion batteries.
