Lifepo4 battery refers to a lithium-ion battery using lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode material. It is a secondary lithium-ion battery widely used in electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and portable electronic devices.
一.Composition structure
Lithium iron phosphate batteries consist of a positive electrode made of lithium iron phosphate, a negative electrode made of graphite, an electrolyte, and a separator. LiFePO4 serves as the positive electrode of the battery, with a polymer separator in the middle that separates the positive and negative electrodes. On the right is the negative electrode of the battery, which is composed of graphite and connected to the negative electrode of the battery by copper foil. The electrolyte of the battery is located between the upper and lower ends, and the battery is enclosed by a metal shell.
二.Working principle
The working principle of lifepo4 batteries is based on the insertion and extraction processes of lithium ions. When charging, the external power supply provides energy, and the lithium ions on the positive electrode are extracted from the lithium iron phosphate crystal and migrate to the negative electrode through the electrolyte and separator. At the same time, after losing lithium ions, the positive electrode is converted into iron phosphate, and electrons flow from the positive electrode to the negative electrode through an external circuit, making the negative electrode in a lithium rich state. During discharge, the process is opposite to charging. The lithium ions in the negative electrode are deintercalated from the graphite lattice, enter the electrolyte, pass through the separator, and migrate to the positive electrode of lithium iron phosphate, where they are re embedded into the lattice of lithium iron phosphate. At the same time, electrons flow from the negative electrode to the positive electrode through the external circuit and load.
